Direct Energy
Lifestyle Brand Stills.
A lifestyle campaign for Direct Energy's Free Days plan via agency 160over90. I directed and photographed the full campaign, building scenes that captured how real people actually spend their days at home: a couple dancing in the living room with a smart speaker, a family gathered around devices at the kitchen table, a woman adjusting her smart thermostat. Dee Eva, the brand's superhero spokesperson, makes her presence known in a conference room presentation in a flowing white gown, clipboard in hand, delivering news of free energy to a room that receives it very, very well.
Then there's the holiday set, which I directed to be delightfully off the rails. The same couple is now surrounded floor-to-ceiling by inflatable holiday everything: jack-o-lantern towers, a skeleton dangling from the ceiling, Christmas penguins, a St. Patrick's Day shamrock, a Kwanzaa candle, two story skeleton and an inflatable dinosaur in a witch hat inexplicably presiding over all of it. The implication: when your energy is free during the day, you have the bandwidth (and apparently the storage space) to go all in on every holiday at once.
